PIONEERING EXCELLENCE THROUGH ADVANCEMENT

Phoenix Technologies began operations in 1992 to address a need for bottle to bottle recycled PET (rPET.) Since then, we have consistently been a leader in PET recycling technology. In fact, many of the advances seen in bottle-to-bottle recycling today can be directly attributed to processes and procedures initiated by Phoenix Technologies and shared with the recycling industry.

Using our extensive experience in plastic preform and bottle production, we designed a state-of-the-art fine mesh filtration plant to process recycled flake into clean resin to form high-grade recycled PET pellets and began supplying the home care markets. Phoenix developed a bottle-grade resin, called NLP™, made from 100% post consumer recycled PET that can be blended with virgin resin at high levels. NLP™ brand resin actually mimics virgin appearance and performance and is very cost-competitive.

In 2001, Phoenix installed our first capacity to process food grade rPET and developed our LNO™ brand high quality recycled PET resin. The process was the first process to receive approval from the FDA for customer use at 100% when produced from curbside collect PET. In addition to the US, the LNO™ brand has been approved by regulatory agencies in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Belgium and Mexico.

Recently, we’ve developed another innovative process with the introduction of LNO™ c resin, a new bottle-to-bottle process that offers lower conversion cost while utilizing less energy than producing traditional recycled PET pellets. As a sintered pellet, LNO™ c resin is formed without melting and is approved for both food and non-food applications, LNO™ c resin is the next generation in Phoenix’s continued efforts to produce high-speed, cost-effective packaging solutions.

In 2002, Phoenix Technologies was presented the prestigious Edison Award for Emerging Technologies, which recognizes organizations who provide global leadership in implementing innovation through technology. The honor lends credence to our continual success everyday in meeting our mission of “Advancing the Value of Recycling through Technology.”
